    That’s a pretty true ending. As a recovering comic junkie, in my former days I drug my wife into quite a few comic shops. I eventually got her to read X-Men, but only during the run where they’d have entire issues w/o anyone fighting. She doesn’t read much in comics now, just an occasional graphic novel (Dresden Files was particularly good), but she’s still a voracious reader that buries me beneath her readable ability.

    But this reminds me of how much fun a comic shop could be. It really is amazing what has and continues to be done (in print and now on the web, though I’ve only read a few webcomics). And just like your character above, I would likely pick up the same crazy stuff I used to!
